Designer History Magazine Spreads
This project tested my sense of grid layout. Magazines are often follow these layouts of all different types of organizations of content. The purpose of the project was to create a short spreads magazine dedicated to a renowned graphic designer that was assigned to me. We had to do enough research to provide text for the designer as well as including 2 pull quotes. the real twist for the project was to design the magazine with the aesthetics of the designer I researched. I was assigned Susan Kare, an iconography designer who had helped make icons for the earliest versions of the Macintosh, and known for the creation of her own typeface, Chicago. Her history and work revolved around retro, pixel minimalistic designing. The first step was to research and create slides to inform viewers about Susan Kare and afterwards were creating layouts for my spreads. After critiques and feedback I'd end up with these Magazine  spreads.
The idea of the background was to mimic a pixelating screen generating the colors and shapes, akin to the process one would see when starting up a GameBoy device. The colors are reflective of Microsoft, since she had also done extensive work on their payroll. The images were all icons either she designed or related to her in some way, besides ttwo he portraits of her.
